Lithium Granions - Sleep Disorders - Oligotherapy - 30 Drinking Ampoules

Therapeutic indications

Used as a ground modifier, particularly in the course of minor psychological or psychosomatic manifestations in children over 6 years of age and adults (mild sleep disorders, irritability).

Contraindications

This medicine is contraindicated in cases of Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the solution.

Warnings and precautions for use

Manic-depressive psychosis and certain psychiatric conditions justify treatment with lithium at dosages that allow lithium levels in the range of 0.5 to 0.8 mEq/l to be obtained. Lithium in the form of trace elements has no place in this treatment.

Pregnancy - breastfeeding

In clinical practice, the administration of lithium in the doses used in psychiatry is the cause of a malformative effect mainly affecting the heart. Consequently, the use of LITHIUM GRANIONS 1mg/2ml, drinkable solution in ampoule is not recommended in pregnant women or during breast-feeding.

Method and frequency of administration, duration of treatment

Method and route of administration: Oral. For adults only: 2 to 3 ampoules per day: it is advisable to take the contents of the ampoules diluted in a glass of water, outside of meals.

Possible side effects

Although no adverse reactions have been reported with the use of LITHUM GRANIONS 1mg/2ml, drinkable solution in ampoules, lithium therapy may cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, fine tremors of the extremities and asthenia. These effects usually disappear spontaneously on discontinuation of treatment.

Overdose

No cases of overdose have been reported to date with LITHIUM GRANIONS 1mg/2ml, drinkable solution in ampoule. However, it should be noted that lithium has a narrow therapeutic range. Lithium intoxication can occur at levels of 1.5 mmol/L and above. Symptoms include diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, neurological disturbances such as drowsiness, dysarthria, blurred vision, lack of coordination, cardiovascular disturbances and hydroelectrolytic disturbances. Treatment consists of gastric lavage, accelerated renal clearance of lithium and provision of fluid and electrolytes.

Lithium content per ampoule: 1 mg For one 2 ml ampoule.

Store at a temperature below 25°C.
