Helichrysum (or Immortelle) essential oil is characteristic for its aromatic and intoxicating smell. Present throughout the Mediterranean region, particularly in Spain, Italy, Croatia and Corsica, it mainly comes today from the Isle of Beauty where its harvest is still sometimes done in the traditional way, with bill hooks, before that the flowers are transported in burlap tarps.

Thanks to its fibrinolytic properties, it is the most powerful antihaematoma known and it regulates circulation disorders (rosacea, phlebitis, varicose veins or hemorrhoids). It also heals the skin (signs of aging, cracks) and fades scars. It also calms resentment and anger.

Bruises: Apply AS SOON AS POSSIBLE 2 or 3 pure drops on the shocked skin, renew every quarter of an hour to avoid the appearance of bruises. If it is already there, apply 3 to 4 times a day, always in gentle massages.
Other skin disorders: Apply 2 or 3 drops to damaged or infected skin, pure if the surface is small, diluted at 10%, so in 20 to 30 drops of arnica vegetable oil if the skin surface is extensive.
Circulation disorders (phlebitis, varicose veins, Raynaud's syndrome, etc.): Apply 2 drops of immortelle diluted in 20 drops of vegetable oil (if possible St. John's wort or wheat germ) and massage the affected areas using this mixture.
Scars: apply 2 or 3 drops of pure helichrysum essential oil to the skin.
Rosacea, cracks, wrinkles: dilute 2 drops of helichrysum essential oil in 10 drops of rosehip vegetable oil.
If your circulation problems are accompanied by cellulite, you can massage the cellulite areas using a mixture of 10% immortelle essential oil and arnica vegetable oil (1 drop of essential oil essential for 10 drops of vegetable oil).
Do not confuse this (Italian) helichrysum with those from Yugoslavia, the Balkans or Madagascar! Immortelle has no blood-thinning action, so it is not contraindicated if you are taking anti-coagulant treatment. Immortelle essential oil is prohibited throughout pregnancy. It should also not be used during breastfeeding.
