Description

Flavonoids Viatris Council 1,000 mg, tablet contains active substances acting on the activity of the veins and protecting them; it increases the venous tone and the resistance of the capillaries.

Flavonoids Viatris Council 1,000 mg, tablet is indicated in adults for:

the treatment of signs and symptoms of chronic venous disease of the lower limbs, such as pain, heaviness, night cramps and swelling;

the treatment of symptoms related to acute hemorrhoidal disease, such as pain, bleeding and swelling in the anal region.

If you are taking this medication to treat the symptoms of chronic venous disease and also have a leg ulcer, other skin changes or hemorrhoids, always consult your doctor.

Tips for use

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure. The recommended adult dose is:

Chronic venous disease

The recommended daily dose is 1 tablet (as a single dose in the morning or evening). You must take this medication for at least 4 or 5 weeks before you can expect improvement. If the symptoms of your illness get worse or do not improve after 6 weeks of treatment, you should consult your doctor. If symptoms improve, treatment may be continued for up to 2 months. Under medical advice, treatment may be extended.

Acute hemorrhoidal disease

The recommended daily dose in acute hemorrhoidal disease during the first 4 days of treatment is 3 tablets (1 tablet in the morning, 1 tablet at noon and 1 tablet in the evening).

Over the next 3 days, the dose is 2 tablets per day (1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet in the evening).

If symptoms worsen or persist after 7 days of treatment, you should consult your doctor.

Composition

The active substance is: 1,000 mg micronised flavonoids, containing 90 % diosmin (900 mg) and 10 % flavonoids (expressed as hesperidin) (100 mg).

The other components are:

Tablet core: gelatin, crospovidone (type A), microcrystalline cellulose, tetrarome orange flavour P0551, maize maltodextrin, alpha-tocopherol (E307), orange pigment mixture PB-230018, pregelatinised maize starch, yellow iron oxide (E172), red iron oxide (E172), sucralose, talc, magnesium stearate.

Precautions for use

If your condition worsens during treatment, resulting in for example inflammation of the skin or veins, hardening of the tissue under the skin, severe pain, skin ulcers or atypical symptoms such as sudden swelling in one or both legs, you must immediately consult your doctor. FLAVONOIDS VIATRIS CONSEIL 1,000 mg, tablet is not effective in reducing lower extremity swelling caused by heart, liver or kidney disease. If you are using compression therapy for chronic venous disease, you should continue this treatment during the use of FLAVONOIDS VIATRIS ADVICE 1,000 mg, tablet. Treatment with FLAVONOIDS VIATRIS COUNCIL 1,000 mg, tablet is most beneficial if accompanied by a balanced lifestyle. It is recommended to avoid sun exposure, follow a healthy diet, engage in regular physical activity and avoid prolonged sitting and standing positions. Acute hemorrhoidal disease If you suffer from an acute hemorrhoidal attack, you should take FLAVONOIDS VIATRIS COUNCIL 1,000 mg tablet only for a short period. If symptoms do not improve after 7 days, consult your doctor. If the situation worsens during treatment, that is to say, if you notice increased bleeding in the rectum, blood in the stool or if you think you might have a bleeding hemorrhoid, consult your doctor. Treatment with FLAVONOIDS VIATRIS CONSEIL 1 000 mg, tablet does not replace specific treatments for other anal disorders.
