Description

Virpax contains the active substance aciclovir and belongs to a group of medicines called antivirals.

Virpax is used in the treatment of recurrent cold sores (recurrent herpes labial), caused by the Herpes simplex virus in adults with a properly functioning immune system. Virpax should be applied directly to the gum (not at the spot) as soon as the first symptoms (burning, tingling, itching) or signs (redness, swelling) appear.

The virus causes blisters or inflammation mainly on the lips but sometimes also on other parts of the face. This viral infection can be activated when the immune system is weakened, for example by colds or other infections. Significant sun exposure, stress or menstruation may also trigger symptoms.

Virpax inhibits the virus’s ability to reproduce and thus allows the infection to regress.

You should talk to your doctor if symptoms worsen or do not improve after 5 days.
