Bisacodyl 5mg - Occasional Constipation - Viatris - 30 Coated Tablets

Description

This medication is recommended for occasional constipation. BISACODYL VIATRIS CONSEIL does not aid weight loss; it does not affect calorie or nutrient absorption.

Directions for use

For adults: 1 or 2 tablets maximum per day.

Take in the evening (effective after 10 hours) or in the morning on an empty stomach (effective after 5 hours).

Precautions for use

This medication may cause potassium loss. In patients with poor fluid balance (e.g., those with renal failure or the elderly), BISACODYL VIATRIS CONSEIL should be discontinued and only restarted under medical supervision, due to the increased risk of dehydration due to intestinal fluid loss.

Symptoms may include thirst and decreased urination (oliguria). Patients may experience blood in the stool (rectal bleeding), which is generally mild and self-limiting. If rectal bleeding occurs, consult a doctor.

Composition

Other ingredients are: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, pregelatinized starch, magnesium stearate. Coating: hypromellose, triethyl citrate, talc, Eudragit L100, Eudragit S100, sucrose, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, yellow iron oxide, carnauba wax.
