Cooper's Dakin Stabilized Antiseptic Solution in a bottle is a topical antiseptic medication used for external use only for disinfection of wounds, skin and mucous membranes.
Antiseptic agents such as Dakin Stabilised Antiseptic Solution are not sterilising, they temporarily reduce the number of micro-organisms such as bacteria.
Formulated on the basis of chlorine (sodium hypochlorite), Cooper Stabilized Dakin is a local antiseptic for external use, intended for the antisepsis of the skin and mucous membranes, but which can also be used on wounds.
Dakin antiseptic solution is used undiluted in irrigations, washes (e.g. washing of wounds), soaked compresses, wet dressings, or local baths (e.g. finger, foot or seat baths). It is possible to renew the applications if necessary.
In case of allergy to the active substance or to one of the other components and for an application in the eye, Dakin solution is contraindicated. Do not swallow.
Concentrated sodium hypochlorite solution corresponding to 500 mg active chlorine, potassium permanganate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, purified water.
