Marjoram is a plant about 20 to 60 cm tall, with oval dark green leaves and whitish flowers grouped in tight inflorescences, likes dry and arid spaces. It should not be confused with wild marjoram or wild oregano (Origanum vulgare) nor with wild marjoram or Thyme (Thymus mastichina). The essential oil is pale yellow with a very slightly camphorated sweet smell.
